Some people asked venue staff directly if we booked event dates with them. Please review this page before trying to label us as scammers.

We gain permission from venue owners

Before listing event dates online, the speed dating host personally explores potential event areas and meets with owners face-to-face to discuss setting up events. To help potential customers become available for events amid their busy schedules, weekly events are discussed with venue owners.

We dont flood owners books with dates

We understand that bookings involve notes in owners books of upcoming events, but there are problems with these kind of bookings, particularly with speed dating.

One venue owner said many people book events and many people cancel their events.

Ongoing reservation cancellations may prevent venue (particularly restaurants) owners from making maximum money because blocked spaces limit the number of paying customers they can serve during the booked periods. Some venue owners mitigate this by charging event organizers non-refundable booking fees.

We confirm dates as events run

We contact venue owners to confirm events on sales closing dates only if they run.

We do not ask venue staff to record all the dates in their books because if we must cancel events, then no inconvenience or financial harm is done to anyone.

A venue owner recently reached out and said he only wanted guaranteed events to run in his venue. Our events are not considered guaranteed unless we have enough people registered in time for each one.

We will continue to book this way, especially when basic needs are becoming more unaffordable to many businesses and everyday people as the days go on. Venue owners do not deserve to face lower revenue just because someone reserves multiple event dates with them, then later cancels most (if not all) the reservations.

We hope you now understand that our planned event dates do NOT become confirmed event bookings with venues unless sufficient people have signed up first, and only we (not venue owners) know how many people have registered.
