Questions about reservations

Q. Are paid tickets from Eventbrite valid for entry?

We don't accept anything from Eventbrite, TicketMaster, Facebook, or other websites as proof of payment.

People were scammed from using 3rd-party websites. In late 2024, people were scammed over $140,000 after buying tickets to Taylor Swift Era's Tour.

Learn how to avoid an Eventbrite and TicketMaster scam here.

Many 3rd-party companies (particularly Eventbrite and PayPal) tend to hold onto money until days after events end. This prevents us from providing drinks or refunds in a timely manner.

Q. Do I need an app for receipts?

A. No. Within 0 - 12 hours of successful payment, you should receive an email detailing your ticket order. If you received no receipt, please contact us.

Q. Are there tickets left?

A. Visit our venue, or city web pages and choose "get info" for your preferred event to view ticket availability.

Q. Is my event running?

A. If the venue owner cancels it, then answer is no. Otherwise, we do not know until hours before the event sales ending time. We want to give last-minute people a shot at buying tickets.

Q. When will I be on the official attendee list?

A. Those paying by cash or Interac E-transfer can expect a delay of 1 - 48 hours because we must manually receive the funds first. For all other electronic payment methods, you're added to the list once our processor approves payment.

Q. Will you hold a seat for me for free?

A. We reserve your seats once you enter checkout. If payment is not completed within the time shown in checkout, then we'll no longer hold onto your seat.

Q. Is a cell number needed to join?

A. Anyone can sign up with a valid email address OR phone number. Specifying both increases the chance that the participant can receive important messages from us.

Q. Why is my phone company unlisted?

A. We support major Canadian mobile phone companies. If your provider has a parent company, then specify it when placing your order.

Questions about online payments

Q. Why did I get two receipts for one order?

A. If you paid by any method other than cash or Interac E-transfer, you'll receive these receipts:

  1. one from us detailing your order, and
  2. one from our payment processor indicating the card used and total amount charged.

You are only charged one grand total per order.

Q. Can I pay with PayPal?

A. No, PayPal's terms state they can hold new incoming funds for 21 days. If everyone paid with PayPal then we cannot purchase drinks for everyone because our payment could arrive 3 weeks after the event date. That's if they don't scam us like they have to others. They also deduct higher fees than what we currently pay per sale.

Q. What payment methods are accepted?

A. We accept MasterCard, Visa, China Union Pay, Interac E-transfer, American Express, JCB, Discover Full Service, and cash. We also accept payments through Google Pay, visa-debit and mastercard-debit cards. Make an appointment with us to pay by cash.

Q. I'm not giving this site my credit card number. How do I pay?

A. Pay by Interac E-Transfer, Google Pay or cash by appointment. Google Pay also saves your card information so you can pay in a few taps or clicks.

Q. Why did my card get declined?

A. We decline transactions when the card:

  1. info supplied during checkout is wrong,
  2. is expired,
  3. was deactivated by the card issuer,
  4. has insufficient funds available, and/or
  5. was excessively used in a short period.

If you believe reason 5 applies, contact your card issuer ASAP as someone might have charged your card, and/or used your card details without your consent.

Q. How much is the service fee?

A. The event type, and commitment levels of everyone in your order determine the fee. For details, view our purchase agreement.

Q. Eventbrite refunds all fees for canceled events. Why are yours non-refundable?

A. Fees cover ongoing business costs which include: internet, transit, physical media material, room bookings, research, mobile service, payment processing, etc. If we paid all fees, and refund nearly everyone, then we may face extreme debt.

Eventbrite has performed unethical tactics on their consumers to offset the costs that credit card networks charge them. Details of their shady practices is available as a series of reviews and complaints both on Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau

Q. I want a ticket. My card works everywhere but here. Why?

A. One card can be used a limited number of times in a short period to purchase tickets. If this is your very first attempt to pay, then request a new card number ASAP, as your card info might have been shared with bad people.

Q. I want 100 tickets. Why does my card work everywhere but here?

A. Orders are capped to reasonable amounts to prevent any fraud from occurring.

Questions about trust, and refunds

Q. I bought tickets. The event got canceled and I got no refund. Why?

A. We predict funds will arrive 1 - 10 calendar days from when the refund was issued. Actual time depends on how many business days our bank and your bank both require to process a refund and can vary from bank to bank. One business day is any day except for weekends and official holidays.

If during checkout, you didn't choose to opt for a refund upon event cancellation then 4 extra days waiting time may apply. This is because we're awaiting your response after we asked you to decide whether to transfer your tickets to future events or opt for refunds.

If you still have not received your eligible refund within 18 calendar days, let us know and we'll conduct a deep money investigation.

Q. If the event cancels when will I be refunded?

A. If you selected a ticket refund upon event cancellation during the checkout process, then refund begins upon event cancellation. Otherwise, we first email you an option to move any applicable ticket holders to a future event or take a refund. If we receive no reply within 96 hours, then a refund will begin.

For Interac E-transfers, waiting time ranges from a few minutes until when you enter the correct Interac E-transfer password (or have auto-deposit enabled). For other payment methods, waiting time is normally up to 10 calendar days later.

For cash, make an appointment with us.

Q. Can you refund me if I have a medical emergency?

A. For regular events, we void a ticket and may issue a refund if either:

  1. You request one no later than 5 days before the sales closing time of the event you signed up for, OR
  2. The event you're in just got canceled, and you request a refund

Other than above, we will issue NO refund.

Q. Can I trust you?

A. Yes. We go out of our way to ensure we create awesome events. In November 2024, we literally PAID a deposit to secure an event room at Splitsville in Hamilton. Why else would we pay a company money for a room?

Q. Who is your payment processor?

A. We used to use Square Canada since mid-2023, (a well known payment processor in Toronto Ontario Canada) until they recently decided to terminate many accounts including ours for silly reasons including us not consenting to nor having the ability to submit to a biometric face scan through a 3rd-party to re-verify identification.

We now decided to team up with Clover. Their logo will appear at the bottom of the official payment stage.

Q. Where are refunds deposited?

A. Back to your original method of payment. If your original method is no longer available (this is very rare), then we will reach out to you to discuss ways on issuing refunds which could include a payment by Interac E-transfer. Please make an appointment with us if you paid with cash.

Q. Can I get info on-site or from venue staff about any events?

A. We first obtain approval from the venue owner (or his/her designate) to setup and run events on a regular basis. Then we list them online.

Many owners prohibit external business signs on their properties. We'll set firm dates with venue owners each time we obtain enough people to run events (hence why sales ending dates precede event nights). This, and/or venue owners decisions may cause venue staff to receive little or no event information.

Q. How are drinks/food affordable if you're paid after the event?

A. Unlike organizers relying on Eventbrite or other ticketing platforms for sales, We're paid in full before events begin, and we follow a budget. We utilize a special payment processor that sends funds to our bank 24-72 hours from when anyone buys a ticket. This allows us to buy food/drink on event night.

Q. You're not on Google Maps. Is your business real?

A. Yes. Google Maps are for businesses that have an official physical building with their name/logo that people can view in person. We cannot qualify for Google Maps because we don't have a physical building to our name. To save you money, We will remain as a mobile business that rents space from various venues to run our events.

Questions about Interac E-transfer payments

Q. Why charge a non-refundable service fee now?

A. It is time to be consistent, and set one service fee across the board. This change affects almost nobody since most people pay by credit card.

Q. How long does a refund take?

A. Best guess is a few days. If you have auto-deposit enabled, then waiting time may be under 1 hour.

Other Questions

Q. Who are the visitors on your website?

A. Unfortunately we do not have any information about that.

Q. Will you ever fully trust Eventbrite again?

A. With their ongoing mistakes, scam tactics, and payment delays, the answer is no. Please try our Eventbrite vs better alternative questionnaire if you don't believe it.

Q. Can I buy tickets for many venues in one transaction?

A. Yes. You can now mix tickets of various events together in your own virtual shopping bag.

Q. What happened to Credit Card Express or Ticket Tailor?

A. We phased away from Ticket Tailor in January 2025 because they only support payment processors that are hard on people. Square, Stripe, and PayPal. As "Credit Card Express" was solely connected to Ticket Tailor, We have now eliminated that option.
