Scam, or No Scam?

Many folks say speed dating is a scam. Is it a Scam, or No Scam? Let's find out from beginning to end.

Ordering process

Many event organizations rely on 3rd-party platforms like Eventbrite to manage funds and attendees. Customers become frustrated on canceled events because shortly after requesting refunds, organizers and 3rd-parties throw them in circles. That's approaching scam territory.

We eliminate the spinning. When anyone orders from us, we handle it all, including managing attendee counts, payments and refunds. No external ticketing platform required.

Real-life Presentations

Organizers having no interest in creating a scam function would make advertising available to the public. Competitors that limit their exposure to, and sell tickets only through third parties could create scams, especially if their profiles are empty.

We advertise the best we can despite our inability to travel far amid today's affordability crisis. Our ads are posted in select grocery stores in Hamilton and occasionally at some venues. We also place active listings on other websites. More importantly, Venue owners permission is obtained in person prior to setting anything up.

Locations mean everything

If a competitor (employing nearly nobody) makes attempts to execute events at venues miles apart simultaneously, then a scam might happen.

During inflation periods, we continue to stay local and use a no-cost option for many trips: a bike. We run at most one event per day. When economy and sales conditions improve, we will expand once again to Toronto and beyond.

Promises

Organizers using Eventbrite claim ticket holders can obtain a free drink. If Eventbrite does not release money before event concludes, then how do organizers afford drinks during it? will loans be utilized? will they scam people? We don't know.

When you buy from us, we receive payment early because we have our own merchant account. This allows us to provide drinks at all events without issues.

Trust

People claim to be victims of a scam. It's likely because they don't look at terms the have already agreed to.

We noticed conflicting terms from the competition regarding refunds. This is because their event descriptions on third-party websites state customers get a full refund upon event cancellation, however, their own websites paint a different story.

Because our tickets are exclusively sold here, we don't explain our refund terms on third-party websites. Instead, we have a master purchase agreement which explains a detailed refund procedure to stop any scam from occurring.

Still a scam?

No Speed Dating organization can control how many ticket holders actually arrive at any event, and a responsible company cannot outright assign mutual matches.

Folks may think it's a scam if they receive no matches and no refund, however their money is spent on their experience, included items, and efforts for an organizer to secure venue space and to source multiple people.

Howie Mandel of Deal or No Deal asks his contestants to think carefully about their decisions before making them as right decisions may lead to taking home big money. We leave you with one question in respect to our company.... Scam, or No Scam?
